Who I am
A Writer’s Jottings shares ideas and insights about the writing life gathered from my four decades as a journalist, biographer, and memoirist.
I’m the author of six nonfiction books who writes in an old house in a Connecticut village. I often write about the lives of American women, including my own.
As I reflect on the pleasures and perils of the life of a writer, I offer readers information and inspiration about how to flourish in a challenging profession.
If you subscribe to A Writer’s Jottings, every month a newsletter from me will appear in your email inbox.
